Role
Who you are
- You hold a degree in Design, HCI, or have equivalent professional experience
- You bring 5+ years of experience designing responsive web platforms
- You have a proven track record in designing both new products and enhancing legacy systems
- Your portfolio showcases a modern, clean visual style, and clearly demonstrates your design approach. (Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered)
- You prioritize people-focused design and are driven to create products and features that make a meaningful impact on users
- You are proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other UX research tools
- You are a clear and effective communicator who thrives on feedback and collaboration
Desirable
- Previous work in the FinTech or InsurTech industries
- Strong understanding of B2B2C SaaS platforms
- Experience in building and maintaining brand guidelines and design systems
What the job involves
- Collaborate within an agile, cross-functional team that includes engineers, product managers, data analysts, and product marketers
- Develop design solutions that consider existing technical constraints, business goals, and platform-specific demands, all while being informed by data
- Take full ownership of your designs, from initial concept to high-fidelity delivery, ensuring every detail is executed with precision
- Build a deep understanding of the end-to-end customer journey, identifying opportunities for improvement across all touchpoints
- Lead and facilitate workshops and ideation sessions, encouraging collaborative thinking and innovation
- Plan and conduct user research using various methods to inform your design decisions
- Contribute to the company’s Design Guidelines and manage the Design System, ensuring consistency across all products and features
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple concepts, knowing when to explore further or pivot to a new direction as needed

At the time, life insurance underwriting was an inefficient process typified by a fractured market, slow processes, and non-standardised evidence. UnderwriteMe released its Underwriting Engine which untangled and greatly accelerated the process, allowing it to grow to become the leading provider of insurance tech products across Europe, Asia, and North America.
As a tech-first company, UnderwriteMe has continued to develop its product, innovating to remain at the forefront of the insurance tech sector. It has moved into AI, with its Text Mining Lab that uses natural language processing to read unstructured medical reports and automatically convert them into usable data. It has also formed major strategic partnerships to improve the product, one example being with United Healthcare Group, allowing medical screening requests to be sent electronically. This further shortens the underwriting decision-making process for users of the platform.
Its focus on innovation and strategic partnerships has yielded success, generating significant buzz in the insurance sector and more than 50% year-on-year growth. Moving ahead it will continue to develop its product, doubling down on AI-augmented decision-making tools to further increase the efficiency of the underwriting process.
