Who you are

The position is remote and available to anyone self-driven, and with the experience and capacity to contribute to our vision
You must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, flexible as to working arrangements and hours, and confident in making decisions in accordance with Bitfinex’s practice
Experience and a deep interest in working with Finance, Mathematics or Statistics
Good understanding of trading and derivatives markets
Strong analytical ability
Experience in customer relations, ability to handle requests and inquiries is essential

Effectively handles inquiries and requests from corporate and professional traders

Our take

Since its 2012 founding, Bitfinex has consistently been one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, supporting over 150 currencies and offering multiple trading options. Its popularity is largely down to how user friendly it is for all levels of trader, from beginner to pro.

For all its popularity, it’s impossible to ignore the controversies the company has faced, along with its sister currency Tether. This includes hacking, a highly publicized settlement over an alleged $850 million loss cover-up, and its involvement in a shadow banking operation which landed the perpetrator 6 years in prison.

It’s also worth noting however, that bad press has dogged a lot of major players in the crypto world. Bitfinex’s supporters don’t seem to have been swayed by the headlines, and the company continues to move on. In 2022, it gained access to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), and the company is hoping to gain regulatory approval and licensing around the world.
