Controller, Relay

• You have a CPA Designation
• You have 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting & finance
• You have experience with full-cycle accounting, including month-end reporting and account reconciliations
• You have a strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP principles, with experience in financial statement preparation
• You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in delivering error-free, concise, and accurate work

Desirable

• As the Controller, you will be directly involved in day-to-day accounting and reporting while also improving processes, systems, and controls as the business continues to scale
• You’ll be working closely with the Strategic Finance team members and cross-functional partners to streamline financial operations, enhance reporting accuracy, and provide real-time financial insights to key decision-makers
• Own and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with support from our Junior Accountant
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, oversee intercompany eliminations, and manage transfer pricing processes
• Maintain and improve financial reporting processes to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights to key stakeholders
• Develop and implement strong internal controls and accounting policies
• Drive process improvements and lead automation initiatives, including our current accounting system implementation (Xero to Rillet)
• Manage the external audit, collaborating with auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
• Support investor relations, board reporting, and executive presentations with clear and accurate financial materials
• Oversee core accounting functions including:
• Treasury Management
• Risk Management
• AP and accruals
• Payroll and taxes (HST, corporate filings, etc.)
• Be hands-on where needed: posting entries, reviewing reconciliations, and resolving issues
• Collaborate with the Strategic Finance team to support budgeting and forecasting, analyze budget vs. actuals across all departments, and identify trends and opportunities to optimize financial performance
• Partner cross-functionally across the business to ensure financial alignment
• Play a leadership role in developing and mentoring junior members
