Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of sales experience in the European Public Sector & with NATO, along with experience negotiating & closing transformational 7-figure deals
- A proven track record of high performance and exceeding quotas
- Experience building and maintaining senior-level relationships with executives in the European Public Sector & NATO
- Experience selling complex enterprise level solutions, technical products, private deployments (AI / NLP solutions preferred)
- Experience working with channel partners to drive sales cycles and hit shared revenue goals
- High tolerance for ambiguity - as an early sales team member, you’ll have to be a doer and a strategist
- Curiosity - you want to go deep on NLP and become an expert on our technology
- Excellent communication skills - you are a great listener, have a knack for understanding what matters most to others & building strong relationships, experienced presenting to a C-suite audience, and feel comfortable speaking to both technical and non-technical customer prospects
What the job involves
- As a European Public Sector Account Executive at Cohere you will have ownership of the full sales cycle - from identifying leads to closing deals, with large European Public Sector customers
- In this role you will be focussed on business development activity with NATO, including HQ and operational commands, major NATO contributors on the continent, and other federal departments across each country
- We’re looking for an approachable and compelling communicator who loves working with customer prospects to uncover their needs and feels comfortable developing tailored value propositions around how Cohere’s platform can help them achieve their business goals.
- You’ll lay the foundation for Cohere’s growth by owning your territory and collaborating with teammates across Customer Success, Sales Development, Marketing, and Sales Engineering.
- You’ll be the voice of the field and help our Product and Engineering teams prioritize the Cohere roadmap with customer-centric care. In this highly self-directed role, you will thrive in a quickly evolving environment. - Drive net-new logo acquisition via outbound activity and relationship building with key stakeholders in the European Public Sector & NATO
- Be a trusted advisor to customer prospects, deeply understand their challenges & goals, and tailor solutions to drive impact for their businesses
- Leverage senior-level relationships with executives in the European Public Sector & NATO, driving strategic partnerships and sales opportunities
- Work in close partnership with channel partners to find opportunities to scale outreach and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with Cohere’s Product and Engineering teams on strategic motions to deliver solutions
- Collaborate with Sales Development Representatives & Marketing to drive top-of-funnel activity
- Own the full sales cycle working in a team selling environment – from initial outreach, technical and business validation, through deal close
Our take
The AI industry biggest stakeholders insist that the next step in enhancing web experiences will be through natural language interactions. While this may be true, only companies with considerable resources can reasonably address the gap needed to bring NLP to the forefront of web integration. Cohere was founded to address this shortfall between NLP development, widespread usage, and the resources required.
Cohere works on building top-of-the-class NLP processing models and software which it makes available to customers through APIs and custom solutions. In a strategic move, the company has partnered with Google Cloud, giving them access to resources that will undoubtedly push the field of NLP forward. This allows Cohere to serve as middlemen by offering a wide range of customers a product built on unmatched technology.
AI is currently a worldwide talking point and so it is no surprise that Cohere has seen rapid development, and raised $270M in a 2023 funding round. The company plans to introduce a dialogue model that would resemble ChatGPT, however, in this case, its technology would be mainly accessible to developers and businesses.
