Who you are
- We're looking for a motivated and highly intelligent Software Engineer ready to make an impact
- You have some software engineering experience and a strong drive to learn and grow
- You possess a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in Python with solid skills and eagerness to apply them
- Strong interest in backend development and a willingness to focus primarily on this area
- Basic understanding or interest in machine learning and a willingness to develop your skills in this area
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure is a plus
- Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly
- Organized self-starter who can stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated with a growth mindset and a passion for continuous learning
- Interest or passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects that have had a meaningful impact or added value are a plus
- German language skills are a plus
- Knowledge about nursing homes/the industry is a plus

- Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Python

- Collaborate with product, design, and seasoned ML teams to turn ideas into solutions

Our take
Dexter Health is a small German startup founded in 2021 that helps healthcare professionals increase efficiency and improves patient well-being. Founded by a tech engineer and a doctor, the manufacturing and AI company’s leading product is a language processing and speaker system, planned for use in hospitals for communication between staff and patients. The aim is simple - to save staff time by cutting down trips to their patients.
Whilst the product may be similar to Alexa and Siri’s voice-activated software, Dexter Health has calibrated its technology to operate across a hospital with AI running in the background and without intrusive monitors. To convince clients to take it on as hospital-wide software though, Dexter plans to enhance its data privacy compliance features, retaining the humanity and sensitivity that patients deserve.
This has been a long-known caveat and trust issue that larger company voice automation software can’t solve for healthcare institutions. It is one, however, that Dexter Health hopes to achieve in its still prototype product. If these features can be fine-tuned, then Dexter Health’s future is certainly a positive one.
