What the job involves

As a Regional Sales Director, you’ll own the sales performance and strategy within the Central region of the US
You’ll lead a team of driven, high-performing Enterprise Account Executives and collaborate cross-functionally to drive new business and expand existing accounts
This role is ideal for a sales leader who understands the developer tools space, is passionate about solving complex problems, and can thrive in a high-growth SaaS environment
This role will report to our VP Americas and will have an East & West team counterpart
The first-line manager of fast-growing teams focused on new and expansion opportunities
Lead, develop, and manage a team of Enterprise Account Executives, calling on businesses with more than 1,000 employees (including Fortune 500 accounts, $1M Install Base)
Provide executive leadership for the Central team including sales forecasting, territory assignments, sales coaching, and commission planning
Assist with selling activities as appropriate and ensure the sales team is working collaboratively with operations, sales engineering, and other internal/external teams
Work with Senior Leadership on the development of annual sales forecasts
Own quarterly and annual team quotas
Lead recruitment and retention activities

Our take

Feature flags are a powerful software development tool, allowing teams to modify system behavior without changing code, therefore minimizing risk. If a business has a new feature they want to test, they can then roll it out to a small set of users before letting it go live. These companies can, for example, get quick feedback on the new feature and fix any bugs, or roll back any changes.

LaunchDarkly allows companies to run tests like this by activating the new code for only a small set of users prior to launch. Typically running these tests requires lots of developer time - a daunting and expensive prospect for most rapidly growing businesses - and can risk disruption to the user experience if testing takes place on the live product.

The platform is used by more than 1,500 customers, including the likes of IBM, Intuit and Atlassian. Signalling a change in strategy, the company shook up its management in 2023 and is now aiming to scale its already strong growth under the leadership of Dan Rogers, a product and marketing specialist with an impressive track record at Rubrik, AWS and Microsoft. It is now well poised to develop into a leading business in the feature management space.
