Who you are
- This position is an ideal choice for English and German speaker STEM graduates who are looking for an international environment and want to apply their technical mindset in a customer-facing role

- If you have an engineering or STEM background and enjoy explaining technical solutions to people, we’ll train you in sales. No prior sales experience required — strong motivation, resilience, and a desire to succeed are essential
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a STEM-related field
- 0-3 years full-time work experience
- Language requirements: C1 or better fluency in German AND English is required; additional European languages are a plus
- Naturally curious and passionate about a wide variety of topics, especially technology
- A relationship builder who is customer focused and results-oriented
- Able to work independently but enjoy and thrive in a team environment
- Able to effectively communicate with customers via phone, video & email

What the job involves
- As a Technical Consultant, you’ll support customers across the EMEA region from our Berlin office, acting as a trusted advisor between technology and business

- Understand customer demand to effectively consult & sell cutting-edge additive manufacturing technology using a solution-oriented approach
- Identify sales leads and follow up on inbound sales inquiries by phone and email
- Ensure an amazing customer experience while assessing up-sell and cross-sell potential, with the goal of increasing product usage and satisfaction
- Coordinate regular touch points with customers to better understand their needs and align results to sales growth
- Represent Formlabs at trade shows and onsite customer events
- Collaborate with key decision makers to identify opportunities and develop ideas that deliver sales results
- Become a knowledgeable champion of Formlabs technology through hands-on training & experience with our products
Our take
Formlabs' founders met at MIT in 2011, and set about creating a company that would disrupt the 3D printing market. While the majority of the industry was experiencing a crash, Formlabs managed to buck the trend by implementing additive manufacturing (stereolithography) to a desktop form factor.
While many 3D printing manufacturers have tried in vain to market their hardware to home users, Formlabs has maintained a laser-sharp focus on serving the needs of professionals and large-scale companies such as Coke and Sony. Striving to keep costs low while maintaining an optimal user experience, the company has sold well over 100,000 printers.
With considerable funding at its back, Formlabs has continued to develop new solutions such as a series of mass manufacturing solutions that enable its customers to dramatically increase their 3D printing output. As the largest supplier of professional SLA and SLS 3D printers in the world, the company is well set to further its position and achieve further global growth.
