Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in a data-driven role, preferably in growth analytics or business intelligence
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of analysts
- Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data management
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and automation
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau
- Experience with acquisition marketing is preferable
- Fluent in English (Knowing French as well would be a bonus)
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams
- Ability to work autonomously while fostering a strong team environment
- Bonus: Experience in digital marketing analytics and familiarity with Heetch
What the job involves
- The main goal of the Global Growth Data team is to provide data-driven insights and flows to optimize Heetch’s expansion efforts
- Our focus is on understanding and enhancing growth performance across all markets through data visualisations, flow management, and strategic recommendations
- As the Lead Growth Data Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Growth Data team
- You will ensure the effective management of data pipelines, visualization, and analytics to support growth initiatives
- Additionally, you will provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance to a team of analysts, while working closely with senior leadership, Growth, and Marketing teams
- Team Leadership & Management: Leading and mentoring a team of Growth Data Analysts, setting objectives, and ensuring their professional development
- Growth Data Visualisation: Ensuring the creation of high-quality dashboards and reports to provide insights to the Growth and Marketing team
- Performance Analysis: Leading efforts to track key acquisition and CRM metrics, identify trends, and evaluate the effectiveness of growth campaigns
- Strategic Insights & Decision Making: Conducting advanced statistical analyses to inform growth strategies and optimise acquisition and retention efforts
- Data Pipeline Management: Overseeing data extraction, transformation, and storage from platforms such as Google Ads Analytics, Apple Search Analytics, Adjust, and Firebase
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Partnering with cross-functional teams, including Growth, Marketing, and Engineering, to ensure smooth data integration and reporting
- Process Improvement: Establishing best practices for data governance, automation, and analytics frameworks to enhance efficiency and scalability
Our take
Heetch is looking to carve out its own niche in the ride-sharing industry, and taking on Uber is no small feat. They’ve been laying down a strong service and reputational foundation, though. For drivers, Heetch only takes a 15% commission to Uber’s 25%, and doesn’t use driver ratings as a way of reporting problems. For customers, rides are cheaper than an UberX, and are designed to have a younger, funner feel.
So how well is this strategy working? Well, Heetch is second behind Uber in France, and has spread to a couple of neighbouring countries like Belgium and Italy. Predominantly, however, its expansion is focused on francophone regions in Africa like Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast.
This could prove a smart move, as Uber has yet to dominate many of the African markets, thanks to smaller companies offering locally tailored and more effective competing services. These same problems are likely to plague Heetch, too, but with the leader off its top spot, there may be more room to manoeuvre.
