Role
Who you are
- Proven experience (2+ years) managing software engineering teams in a product-led SaaS environment
- Solid technical grounding in modern software architecture (microservices, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD), including experience with all, or some, of our tech stack (Flutter, React, PHP, GoLang, AWS)
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches)
- Comfortable supporting cross-functional teams that include FE, BE, QA, and DevOps
- A track record of building strong, engaged teams
- Great communication skills—you bring clarity, empathy, and focus to team discussions and decision-making
Desirable
- Interest or experience in AI/ML technologies
- Background working with neurodiverse or inclusive teams
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a people-first Software Engineering Manager to guide and support our growing, multi-disciplinary engineering team. If you’re passionate about building high-performing teams, nurturing individual growth, and driving engineering excellence—this role is for you
- You’ll bring a strong technical foundation, enabling you to engage meaningfully in architectural and delivery conversations. Your focus will be on creating clarity, driving momentum, and cultivating an environment where engineers can do their best work, while also happy to jump into the code and give more hands-on support when needed
- **Key Responsibilities**
- Line manage engineers across multiple disciplines: front-end, back-end, QA, and DevOps
- Build and maintain a high-trust, high-autonomy team culture grounded in psychological safety and continuous improvement
- Partner closely with Product and Design to shape and deliver well-scoped, high-impact work across multiple streams
- Champion best practices in Agile delivery, and guide the evolution of our engineering processes
- Support engineers’ technical and career development through coaching, feedback, and development planning
- Help navigate complex technical decisions and unblock teams when needed, without needing to code directly
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts to build a resilient, diverse team

Our take
Wellness and organisation apps are a dime a dozen, but ones focused specifically on the well-being and practicalities of living with a learning difficulty are far fewer. Booost Education melds mental health support, diary and workload management, and routine building features into one platform.
With a team of disability needs assessors and UX designers behind the app, Booost is backed by founders with a solid understanding of what neurodiverse students need to help them succeed in the study. The product is currently live and available, both for UK students receiving the Disabled Students Allowance grant and for individuals, schools, colleges and universities.
Whilst apps such as Asana and Epic Win dominate the American market, there appears to be space for Booost in the UK software industry. That being said, Booost should partner with universities and DSA governing bodies to make sure it reaches as much of its target audience as possible, who must be convinced to use it regularly for it to make the biggest difference.
