Who you are
- We’re looking for someone who is impact-driven driven who will help develop and evaluate various pricing models with experience in the credit card space
- This candidate should also have experience working with varied stakeholders across functions and establishing trust-based relationships
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- Deep knowledge and experience with valuing financial instruments, financial modeling of credit card/payment products
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, pricing within the consumer lending or fintech industry is highly desired
- Demonstrable experience with financial statements and understanding of relationships between balance sheets, income statement,t and cash flow statements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Proven collaborator, with the ability to accomplish cross-functional goals and help deliver results expected from a high-performing team
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial systems, data analysis tools, and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of data visualization tools and SQL is a plus
What the job involves
- The finance team is responsible for executing Imprint’s financial strategy and empowering teams with insightful analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and operational rigor
- We work closely with our leaders, investors, and merchant partners to execute company strategy and build financial discipline as we scale through our next stage of hyper-growth
- The corporate pricing leader will support critical business development by providing in-depth financial analysis on various strategic opportunities and their effect on Imprint
- You will be supported in your growth and development to take on as much responsibility as you can handle, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Building and analyzing financial models related to new deal negotiations and corporate development work on day 1 of role - the role requires expert ability to build and enhance financial models
- Leverage tools, input from prospective partners, and industry knowledge to form an independent opinion on potential deals or corporate development work
- Work closely with the business development team to build out and update ever-changing timelines for upcoming deals, proposals, and execution of de novo or conversions to balance workload
- Be the bridge between the business development team, executive team and finance team to ensure the latest assumptions are built into the monthly forecasts that are provided
- Help the organization understand the strategic and financial impact of a new deal or set of deals to Imprint portfolio
- Deliver insightful and self-serving reporting to the leadership team including the ability to deliver back-of-napkin analysis on day 1 of the role
- Foster a collaborative and data-driven culture within the team and across the organization, promoting a deep understanding of financial performance drivers
Our take
These days, all sorts of cards abound, from virtual cards to co-branded credit cards. Imprint aims to stand out in the increasingly crowded space by partnering with businesses to provide branded rewards cards for customers.
While there has been an increase in the number of companies offering branded financial products to reduce costs, Imprint sees its card programs as offering a new platform for deepening customer relationships: less of the nastiness of credit and a much greater focus on rewards.
The startup is focusing on refining its embedded finance solution to fulfil its vision of an Apple-pay like experience for merchants and consumers.
Imprint will hope that its lightweight service, fit for smaller customers like hotel chains, will allow it to compete with the major venture-backed players in the space like Cardless, Apto and Alviere. Its $75 million in venture capital raised in 2023 will go some way towards achieving these aims.
