Role
Who you are
- You make short-form video to a high standard, and you can show us work you personally made rather than team output.
- You edit all of your own content. Strong, hands-on editing is essential here, not something you hand off.
- You have a good eye for stills as well as video, and can shoot and lay out image posts and carousels cleanly.
- You have taste and you sweat the details, in the words as much as the visuals. You know when something sounds like a brand and when it sounds generic.
- You are self-directed and fast. You have owned a content output before, not just executed someone else's plan.
- You think in hooks, not just aesthetics. You can make something that performs as an ad, not only something that looks good.
Desirable
- You have made UGC or worked with creators.
- You have a consumer, travel or lifestyle brand background.
- You have advanced graphic design or motion graphics skills, above the basics this role already needs.
- You have worked on paid social creative, or you are clearly able to learn that side fast.
What the job involves
- Own our organic content end to end: set the calendar, make the work, post it, report on it.
- Make our short-form video across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, plus stills and carousels. Make it once, run it everywhere.
- Restart and grow our TikTok. This is the immediate priority.
- Make our Meta ad creative, building the hooks and variations that perform in the feed, working with one of the founders who runs the ads.
- Guide and instruct our Explorers on filming their own trips, then shape what comes back into content. The airport reveal is the most shareable moment, but far from the only one.
- Write the captions and on-screen copy, in Journee's voice.
- Read the numbers and act on them: chase what works, cut what doesn't, and report without being asked.
- Later, direct a freelance producer once the engine is running and the voice is locked.

Our take
Holiday booking can quickly become a research project in and of itself. Review sites, comparison tools and social feeds can quickly become overwhelming. Journee believes the true joy of travel often comes from moments of spontaneity, not from the planning. Indeed, Journee is a company that removes the planning aspect entirely, targeting a market of travellers who prefer less control over their destination, more spontaneity and surprise, rather than rigorous research.
Covering the UK, US and Canada, Journee's customers, known as "Explorers", complete a detailed questionnaire that covers budget, interests, travel dates and destinations they'd like to avoid. Journee plans and books everything from flights to accommodation and experiences, upping the anticipation for the trip by sending customers clues. The destination itself is kept secret until they arrive at the airport, and the anticipation of the reveal is treated as part of the experiential product.
This new approach to travelling requires a higher level of trust. Destination matching and travel problem troubleshooting must be of high quality, so Journee's growth and future success will depend on its consistency on these fronts. It's a novel concept and is likely to find success with Gen Z due to its spontaneous, stress-free nature. To stay competitive within the travel industry, Journee will need to continue to provide best-in-class remote problem resolution to help travellers with any issues they run into, and expand beyond short-haul travel into longer, more ambitious trips.
