Who you are
- 5+ years of integrated content creation experience as a content strategist, copywriter, creative project manager, or creative producer
- Experience writing advertising, learning and development, and internal communications copy
- Demonstrated success working in a deadline-driven environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience mentoring partners/vendors by anticipating roadblocks and providing feedback on creative and production issues
What the job involves
- Compass is seeking a proactive, resourceful, and collaborative Content Strategist with a passion for creating content that resonates with the end user
- In this role, you’ll act as a versatile leader, balancing content strategy, program management, and process optimization to drive our most impactful creative initiatives
- You’ll focus on delivering high-quality work efficiently, ensuring all creative outputs are on time, on brand, and align with company goals
- You will be equally comfortable running point on project management as you are picking up the pen to write compelling copy that drives engagement across a diverse audience set
- Please note: this role is 100% in-office in our HQ NYC Office
- Oversee, manage, and create content across all business areas, including content strategy and editorial planning, copywriting, and creative project management for our proprietary marketing products and brand communications
- Collaborate with creative producers, marketers, communication team members, and executives to develop and curate marketing collateral, customer success stories, and internal/external communications that engage and retain agents and their clients
- Use strong editorial judgment to drive the full content lifecycle, including strategy, planning, publishing, distribution, analytics, and measurement
- Gather customer feedback and use it to inform and refine strategy and messaging
- Establish and refine governance to ensure content is purpose-built and effectively leveraged across diverse audiences and channels
- Ideate new content formats and identify innovative engagement strategies through collaboration with content creators and business leaders
- Provide expert creative insights on projects and clearly articulate concepts, ideas, and brand guidelines to senior leaders in a friendly and convincing manner
- Manage productive brainstorms and transform abstract ideas into a cohesive message across various platforms, including web, communications, field support, and video – all while maintaining the voice of the business
- Manage major advertising campaigns from development through completion as a creative strategist
- Research internal product solutions and craft persuasive product positioning for the agent and consumer audience

Compass uses an AI-driven platform to smooth out and speed up the process of buying, selling, or renting property. It functions much like a traditional broker, but employs tech to reduce the time, uncertainty, cost and friction of transactions for buyers, sellers & agents.
It's disrupting a sector so far largely averse to tech innovation, allowing users to close deals in less time than the industry average of 30-45 days. Compass is now the largest independent real estate brokerage in the USA, with over 29,000 agents nationwide.
Despite being a leading residential brokerage and competing well, Compass has remained unprofitable. While the company is replanning its cost structure to be profitable over the next year, it announced its third round of payoffs in early January 2023. Its profit-generating plans include expanding into mortgages, escrow & title services.
