Who you are
- A law degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction and able to practice in California or New York
- 8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience with a focus on product counseling
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Exercise Good Judgment: Prioritize and focus on the key risks
- Adapt & Problem Solve: Communicate and mediate
- Work in service of long term business objectives
- Build trusted relationships with the Business,
- Manage multiple projects and tasks in a time-sensitive environment
What the job involves
- We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and curious Product Counsel to join as the founding member of our newly established standalone Product Legal team
- In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing scalable approaches and processes for legal review and guidance across the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development through go-to-market and post-sales support
- Partner cross-functionally to align legal guidance with business goals, including counseling our Product and Engineering teams on key legal issues related to B2B AI systems
- Research and advise on regulatory frameworks to help design and enhance compliant AI-powered products
- Partner with marketing teams to align product communications with legal and regulatory standards and support brand credibility and trust
- Support key initiatives to further develop and mature the legal team’s capabilities and impact
- Deliver clear, practical legal advice in a fast-moving environment
