Who you are
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Authentication and Authorisation team!
- You have proven engineering skills in web development and hands-on experiences as a full-stack software engineer and are motivated to work in these areas
- You’re a team player, proactive, and have experience collaborating closely with other teams
- You enjoy crafting simple solutions to sophisticated engineering problems and can communicate them to product managers
- You’re an entrepreneurial thinker but thrive in a tight-knit team
- You’re committed to the products you work on
- A few years of hands-on industry experience building complex product
- You have a strong web development and JavaScript background and experience with React or other major JavaScript frameworks
- Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Care about privacy by design, security, testing, high-performance systems, and mentoring others
- Have good knowledge in cloud computing and any experience with IAM services such as AWS Cognito, and Auth0 would be a plus

What the job involves
- As a full-stack software engineer within the user Authentication and Authorisation team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to safeguard the authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity of SC users
- Develop, implement, and maintain identity and access management solutions using Javascript, Go/Scala
- Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Solve technical problems with large scope and complexity while you advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
- You will be part of the team maintaining systems in production including answering incidents etc
- Contribute to team and organizational improvements in processes and tooling
- Confidently own moderate to significantly complex features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects
- Continuously learn and share knowledge of industry best practices on IAM-related technologies

Founded in 2007, SoundCloud saw the need for an artist-first platform. They set out to empower independent artists and equip them with the necessary tools and resources to build and grow their careers.
SoundCloud has over 40 million artists on the platform (in comparison to Spotify's 11 million), making them the biggest audio discovery platform in a large and growing market. According to Midia Research, the independent artist market is bound to see unhindered revenue growth for the next few years.
The company plans to scale up its audience and expand its services through new offerings such as the SoundCloud "roster". This is a tier system that provides significant creative and financial resources, as well as financial and marketing support to artists (essentially rivaling large-scale record companies). While artists will maintain ownership of their copyrights they are to be represented by SoundCloud.
SoundCloud's expansion into new markets and regions is still full steam ahead. Through acquisitions, partnerships and even better product offerings, SoundCloud is bent on cementing its standing as every creator's springboard.
