Who you are
- This role is perfect for someone who is on the cusp of a Senior Engineer—ready to stretch into more ownership, lead implementation on meaningful projects, and continuously improve product quality and system design
- You're inquisitive and want to work on the right things. You'll do great if you think customer-first and are willing to learn about the industry we operate in. You'll speak with customers, build a shared understanding of the problems at hand and perhaps even identify some unmet needs that deserve to be explored further
- You have at least 6 years of experience in a similar engineering role, preferably at a SaaS start-up/scale-up during a phase of rapid growth
- Familiarity with parts of our tech stack is helpful, but we value your ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
- Experience building scheduling systems, working with labor compliance, or developing real-time communication tools would be valuable but not essential
- Prior work in hospitality tech or with hourly workforce management solutions is a definite plus, but we're also interested in your experience solving similar problems in adjacent industries

When faced with constraints or ambiguity, you find creative paths forward rather than waiting for perfect clarity

What the job involves
- We are now looking for a Product Engineer III to join our Inventory Management (IM) product team
- Nory’s Inventory Management product helps our customers reduce waste and control their cost of sales
- Restaurant teams use our web and mobile apps to manage orders and deliveries, count stock, and adapt to menu changes – all to keep their businesses lean and profitable
- As a Product Engineer III, you will bring your full-stack expertise and experience to solve high-impact problems for our users
- You’ll be a hands-on contributor who’s comfortable taking the lead on complex features or backlog items, while collaborating closely with peers across engineering, design, and customer success
- You’ll lean into systems thinking and be excited to fix root causes, not just symptoms
- Build and ship end-to-end features that improve usability, functionality and scalability of the Inventory Management product, especially those that reduce manual configuration and simplify operations
- Take ownership of larger backlog items, driving them from ideation to production. You’ll bring others in as needed, but be confident in leading the engineering execution
- Fix the root cause behind recurring issues, especially in areas of configuration, product behavior, and customer workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers in a tight feedback loop to continuously improve our product based on real-world usage
- Contribute to technical design and refactoring efforts as the system scales. You'll help evolve our architecture and data model to meet growing complexity
- Support internal teams by creating tools that empower Customer Success to configure and manage the system with less engineering involvement
- Some technologies powering IM which you will be working with: Python, React, TypeScript, Node.js, FastAPI, various AWS services (e.g. Fargate, Aurora, SQS), MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Docker

- Panel technical discussion where you show us what you’ve built, discuss its tradeoffs, and where you'd take it next. We’ll also ask you to show us how you would productionise your application in the cloud. You’ll receive feedback once we’ve reviewed as a team

Our take
Nory’s AI and automation software allows restaurants to more easily take control of common pain points like inventory, staffing, and marketing, all on one platform. With thin margins, stretched teams and high levels of waste, Nory was founded by a seasoned restaurant founder and scaler, who knows all too well how juggling "market-leading" systems can become a headache for restaurant managers. Indeed, he even built an early version of Nory for his own restaurant.
What makes Nory a particularly interesting prospect is the value that it can offer multi-site restaurants or chains, given its ability to collect data on each location at once. It melds real-time data with AI predictive analytics so that operators can regain control of their profit. It’s this certainty of purpose and value that’s helped Nory get off to a flying start, securing a rapidly growing customer base including Stonegate Pubs, Dr Juice and Viva Italia.
Having raised a significant amount of capital, most recently in a May 2025 Series B round, Nory has grown its team and expanded from Ireland and the UK into Spain as well. It's using its funding to expand into the US, hire data scientists and accelerate its product development. As the hospitality industry struggles with high costs and low margins, Nory's solution will be increasingly essential for restaurants seeking to optimise their operations and turn a profit.
