Role
Who you are
- English law qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate
- At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in private practice
- Experience of reviewing and negotiating SaaS and/or data licensing contracts
- Keen commercial awareness and ability to provide actionable advice
- Excellent people skills with an ability to maintain strong working relationships
- Sound and practical judgment in managing legal risks
- The ability to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
- Confident and clear communicator
Desirable
- In-house experience
- Experience related to the financial services, media and/or technology sectors
- Experience or interest in using technology to improve legal operations
What the job involves
- Our in-house Legal Department is looking to hire a full time English law qualified Legal Counsel to work in London
- A high degree of responsibility and autonomy, and the opportunity to shape your development within an agile, fast-growing and ever-evolving global company
- Negotiate and draft commercial agreements including customer and vendor agreements
- Provide practical legal and strategic advice on a range of UK and international legal matters including employment, intellectual property, media, M&A, privacy, and dispute resolution
- Build relationships with the Commercial team and other key stakeholders across the organisation
- Continuously learn about our business, services and technology. Develop and maintain expertise in current legal issues relevant to our business, such as those relating to artificial intelligence
- Drive and contribute to legal projects, including improving our legal operations as we scale
