- You have at least 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- You understand the German market and user behaviours
- You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers

What the job involves
- Coinbase is seeking an experienced backend engineer to join our team to build out the next generation of crypto-forward products and features
- You will solve unique, large scale, highly complex technical problems, bridging the constraints posed by modern web/mobile applications and blockchain technology
- You will help build the next generation of systems to make cryptocurrency accessible to everyone across the globe, operating real-time applications with high frequency, low latency updates, and managing the most secure, dockerized infrastructure running in the cloud
- Join Coinbase's Country Expansion team to influence the future of cryptocurrency adoption in Germany
- Collaborate with the Country Director, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to customize the Coinbase experience, tailoring it to the German market and strategically shaping Coinbase's presence through innovative features and a customer-first approach
- Deliver creative customer facing features to bring German users on chain
- Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems
- Work with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter
- Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers
- Actively mentor junior engineers and facilitate their career development

With features like crypto wallets, direct bank account linking, and merchant payment tools, it's helping bring crypto into the mainstream.
