Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a leader with a passion for people, who has a hands-on approach and coaching mentality:
- You have 5+ years of professional working experience in Product Design, with an excellent portfolio of work demonstrating your success
- You are a self-starter, sharing our hands-on mentality, being flexible and with great interpersonal skills, who is able to build strong, mutually respectful relationships without losing the eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetic
- You are highly experienced with UX, and ideally have strong UI skills
- You have already built and mentored “A” class design teams before
- You are structured and organized, having managed and delivered products from start to finish
- You understand how design decisions affect business decisions, and are able to collaborate with the internal tech team to build feasible solutions
- You are a data-driven person, allowing you to make informed business decisions
- You are proactive, bringing new ideas to the table on how we can improve our product, team and processes
- You are willing to learn about the world of accounting, bringing fresh ideas to the field, but respecting the already existing approaches that continue to rule the industry
What the job involves
- As the Product Design Lead, you will be a key leader driving Circula’s product development with a hands-on approach, working side-by-side with Product and Engineering teams
- You will be responsible for leading, building and growing an efficient product design team, keeping the human-factor at the center of what it does
- Your mission is to actively drive product discovery and product delivery projects and support and mentor your team with new learnings and best practices for ongoing success in one of Europe’s fastest-growing fintech SaaS companies
- Leadership: You lead and advise the product design team, share your expertise and represent Circula's corporate values
- Strategy: You drive the product design vision and strategy and align it with Circula's vision, mission and goals
- Collaboration: You are primarily responsible for working with Product Managers on new features and continuously exchange ideas with the Product and Engineering teams to prepare for development
- Quality assurance: You set the bar high for quality and promote an excellent standard of design performance from all product designers in your team
- Design: You will shape the design system and ensure it is consistent, followed and constantly improved to provide a holistic user experience
- Implementation: You deliver actionable designs: journey maps, user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes for all our platforms (web/desktop, iOS, Android)

Our take
The expense management software market is expected to witness significant growth due to the centralisation of enterprise expense-related data. The global economy has witnessed constant alterations due to technological advancements that can enable businesses and employees to function more efficiently.
Circula offers mid-sized and larger corporates an employee finance app that combines digital expense management, employee benefits and, with its partnership with Pliant announced in 2021, a smart corporate credit card. With this further development, Circula aims to become a holistic employee finance provider that can bundle all financial strands between employees and employers in the future.
Other close competitors of Circula capitalising on the spend management market include start-ups Moss and Spendesk. Circula intends to grow its team, further develop its product, and enter new European markets such as, in 2022, Netherlands and Spain, to stave off this competition and cement its position in the market.
