- Hands-on experience with cloud data storage, such as AWS S3, or DynamoDB

What the job involves
- You will be a core member of the backend engineering team, partnering with gameplay and feature engineers as well as other server engineers to deliver new experiences for our players built on a fast, reliable platform
- Actively participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and idea sharing
- Design and lead the integration of new features into a cloud-native server stack
- Demonstrate initiative in taking ownership of key system components
- Implement and refine tools and frameworks for cross-discipline development teams
- Be part of the on-call rotation to ensure server uptime
- Enable rapid feature development without cutting quality
- Create and maintain documentation for live ops, debugging, and general knowledge

Second Dinner was founded by a team of former directors, producers and artists from Blizzard Entertainment, one of the biggest names in gaming. This combined expertise, which covers every aspect of the game creation process, has helped the company to gain a solid foothold in the market. In 2022, Second Dinner launched its first game, Marvel SNAP, the end product of a high value partnership with entertainment giant Disney.
The gaming market is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and Second Dinner's partnership with Marvel, the world's most recognisable franchise, has helped set it apart from the crowd. However, the company has faced pushback over its in-game monetization features. Nonetheless, Second Dinner was quick to remedy these features, displaying impressive agility.
