Role
Who you are
- We're looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer who is passionate about building exceptional user experiences
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with our core stack: JavaScript/TypeScript and React, HTML, CSS
- A strong portfolio or body of work demonstrating expertise in building complex, interactive user interfaces
- Passion and love for crafting beautiful work, and take pride in shipping high-quality, user-centric products
- UI/UX Expertise: Proven ability to design and build user-centric UIs, with a deep understanding of frontend state management, component-based architecture, and performance optimization. You take pride in crafting beautiful and highly functional user experiences
- Backend Fundamentals: At least 2 years of experience with backend development in the Node.js ecosystem, including knowledge of database schemas and data modeling
- Testing & Tooling: Over 3 years of experience using testing frameworks like Cypress, Jest, Enzyme, or React Testing Library to ensure code quality. Additionally, 2+ years of experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Parcel, or Rollup
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including automated testing, observability, and CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions). Experience with containerization (Docker) is a plus
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: A successful track record of operating effectively within cross-functional teams in fast-paced, agile environments. You are a highly effective communicator, comfortable navigating ambiguity to translate complex user problems into clear designs and implementations
What the job involves
- As a core member of our team, you'll be instrumental in shaping the visual identity and interaction design of our platform
- You'll take ownership of the visual flow builder and chat interfaces, ensuring they are not only functional but also intuitive and delightful for users to work with. Flowise values UI/UX heavily, we’re a visual agent builder afterall!
- UI/UX Ownership: Take the lead in designing, developing, and improving the user experience for the Flowise application. You will be the go-to person for the visual flow builder and chat interfaces, ensuring they are scalable, performant, sleek and delightful
- Improve and Execute: Make Flowise the best visual low-code tool for building AI agents by helping to improve our UI/UX across our open-source, cloud, and enterprise versions. Latency, stability, user experience, test coverage, e2e testing
- Collaborate and Implement: Partner with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to define requirements and implement effective solutions that align with the platform's vision
- Drive Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code. You will participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor other engineers to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Navigate Ambiguity: Proactively identify and resolve issues within the user interface to ensure optimal functionality. You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity to turn hard problems into clear solutions through reasoning and research
