Lidar Algorithms Software Engineer, Aeva

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in software development and algorithm design
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics and excellent problem-solving skills
• Proven experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing embedded systems
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and show initiative in solving complex system-level problems

• We are seeking a software engineer to focus on algorithm development for point cloud processing in production software
• This role will focus on driving CPU and memory optimizations across our LiDAR data path, ensuring efficient real-time processing as sensor capabilities and feature complexity continue to grow
• Analyze, benchmark and implement point cloud processing algorithms to achieve CPU, memory, and latency targets
• Implement signal processing, detection, and lidar algorithms in C++ in production software and simulation platforms
• Translate floating-point models to fixed-point for optimal implementation on ARM processors and FPGAs
• Profile, triage, and root-cause complex performance issues in live sensor systems
• Participate in the team's development processes, including requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback, and improvements
