Who you are

You have a strong technical background and significant experience building production web applications
You understand how to write, analyze and optimize SQL queries (PostgreSQL is a plus)
You have experience designing and documenting RESTful APIs

What the job involves

Wrapbook is looking for a Senior Software Engineer II (Ruby on Rails) who will play a hands-on role in driving our mission to build an outstanding technology company
You will be working as part of a cross-functional team, driving our core features from start to finish
Collaborate with other developers, designers and product managers to provide elegant solutions to Wrapbook customer problems
Lead the delivery of complex problems with ambiguous requirements by breaking them into small, approachable tasks
Take ownership of feature delivery from concept to production
Write performant, scalable, and secure software
Review and have your code reviewed. Mentoring and learning from other developers
Ensure code is well-tested and well-architected
Actively improve our tools, processes and best practices
Improve existing complex architectures and platforms
Communicate tradeoffs for technical choices

Our take

Payroll systems for the production industry are long outdated, with the vast majority of administration still being completed manually, in person, and on paper. This forces cast and crew members to loose many hours in unpaid work and drives up production costs.

Wrapbook's app helps cast and crew complete onboarding, submit timecards and track payments. It offers touch and face ID and helps users track various filings as they pass through the system. Its position as one of the country’s only entertainment-compliant companies of its kind has given it a strong head start in its field.

The company's product is used by well-known production companies such as CollegeHumor, Creative Blood and JN, and serves over 1,000 companies in total. The company has earned Unicorn status, and continues to enhance the capabilities of its payroll platform such as through the acquisition of scheduling platform Cinapse.
