Role
Who you are
- A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in digital product design (experience in the financial sector is advantageous but not essential)
- An excellent understanding of design patterns and approaches across different platforms: responsive web, native iOS and Android
- An excellent craftsmanship with an eye for details that enables to deliver a high-standard final product
- A strong portfolio with case studies demonstrating creative problem-solving that relates to on-boarding, conversion, retention and off-boarding
- Excellent English or German communication skills to articulate design decisions and keeping the team informed of project progress and timings
- Deep understanding of how to leverage the features of a modern design software to create low and high fidelity prototypes, (micro) animations, components and to maintain a design system (experience with Figma is advantageous)
- A good knowledge and experience across various design approaches, methodologies and prototyping
What the job involves
- Create delightful user experiences across all platforms by designing simple, beautiful, intuitive interfaces and micro-interactions to enhance user engagement
- Provide innovative and practical solutions based on a good understanding of customer needs and behaviour as well as the product
- Take full ownership of the design lifecycle (from ideation to delivering a pixel-perfect design) and support during implementation
- Act as guardian of a consistent implementation of our design language across all platforms/projects
- Engage with your product owner and engineering colleagues on a daily basis
Our take
Interest around investing in digital assets is increasing steadily due to innovations in fintech smartphone applications and the popularity of blockchain finance such as cryptocurrency. While stocks and cryptocurrency have a lot to do with this increase in popularity, it has also led to new investors learning about ETFs and index funds, meaning more people are looking for easier ways to invest.
Scalable Capital provides a free smartphone application for the investing and trading of stocks, cryptocurrencies, commission-free ETFs, and index funds, with subscription fees providing commission-free stock trading. The application also features a machine learning-driven robotrading service called Smart Predict to aid in improving users' limit and stop orders.
Whilst several other European investment platforms focus on commission-free trading, Scalable Capital has taken a fresh perspective by focusing on providing commission-free ETF investment. By doing this, the company encourages smart long-term ETF investments over riskier day-trading, tapping into a more mature market than applications focused on stocks. With substantial growth reported in 2025, Scalable Capital is carving out its market share.
