Who you are
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with strategic finance capabilities and enjoys building scalable finance operations in a high-growth environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- 12+ years of progressive experience across finance and accounting
- Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting expertise
- Leadership experience building and managing both FP&A and accounting operations
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments strongly preferred
- Experience with platforms such as NetSuite, Adaptive, or similar
- Strong communication skills for executive and board audiences
- Hands-on leadership style with strong problem-solving ability
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Vice President, Finance & Accounting to lead the Company’s finance organization, reporting directly to the CFO & Co-Founder
- The role will oversee accounting, FP&A, financial reporting, and finance operations while strengthening the systems, processes, and infrastructure needed to support the Company’s continued growth
- This Vice President will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership team to deliver financial visibility, improve operational decision-making, and help prepare the Company for future strategic transactions or financing
- Finance & Strategic Planning:
- Partner with the CFO and executive team on financial strategy, planning, and budgeting
- Oversee development and maintenance of financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses
- Lead preparation of board materials, management reporting, and performance dashboards
- Establish KPIs and financial metrics to improve visibility into company performance
- Assist the CFO with investor reporting, financing, and strategic transactions
- Accounting & Financial Operations:
- Own the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting and GAAP financial statements
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Lead core accounting functions including AP, AR, billing, and payroll coordination
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners
- Oversee audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Finance Infrastructure & Systems:
- Strengthen and scale financial infrastructure to support company growth
- Improve efficiency and reliability of close and reporting processes
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance workflows
- Lead optimization of ERP, planning tools, and reporting systems
- Ensure data integrity and scalable financial reporting frameworks
- Treasury & Cash Management:
- Monitor liquidity, cash flow forecasting, and working capital
- Manage banking relationships and treasury operations
- Develop cash management strategies that support operational flexibility
- Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team
- Build scalable processes and a strong operational finance foundation
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Operate as a hands-on player-coach when needed
- Success in the First 12 Months:
- Ensure reliable and accurate financial reporting
- Improve the efficiency and predictability of the monthly close
- Strengthen financial reporting for executive leadership and the board
- Enhance financial models and forecasting processes
- Identify improvements in finance systems, data, and reporting
- Develop the finance and accounting team while building scalable processes
Our take
Episode Six (E6) was co-founded by a trio of fintech executives from Rêv Worldwide and NetSpend. They were in a position to see the rate at which digital and neobanks were developing new, API-enabled payment methods, and threatening to disrupt the market share of legacy financial institutions.
The main problem for legacy FIs is that their back-end infrastructure has not evolved quickly enough to keep up, so E6 offers them an API platform to more easily create products fit for today’s consumers. It’s safe to say that E6’s efforts are proving successful, considering that its clients include Mastercard, HSBC, Visa, Microsoft, and Japan Airlines.
The company’s footprint has also expanded impressively since launching in 2015, and it now operates in major financial markets including London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Brisbane. And it recently launched its payment services on AWS Marketplace, reflecting its increasing influence in the global financial landscape and also highlighting its ability to adapt to evolving market demands. With a broader reach and this strategic move into cloud-based services, the company is well-positioned for a future of success.
