Role
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- You have 10 years of experience in marketing operations, distribution, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- You have experience managing distribution channels for digital content in a global marketplace
- You are analytical and have experience with performance metrics, OKRs, and KPIs
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence partners at all levels
- You excel as a leader with the ability to bring projects to successful completion
- You are proficient in the use of digital marketing tools and platforms
What the job involves
- As the Senior Manager of Global Marketing Distribution, you will help oversee the distribution of marketing assets across multiple channels, third-party platforms, and sales streams including EST (Electronic Sell-Through), TVD (Television Distribution), and VOD (Video On Demand)
- Your strategic vision and operational expertise will ensure that our marketing content is delivered effectively and efficiently, maximizing reach and impact
- Oversee creation, localization, and distribution of marketing materials related to channel launches, third-party platforms, and EST/TVD/VOD sales
- Partner with Marketing Globalization, Creative Services, Production Design, and Campaign Management teams to ensure all deliverables are met
- Partner with our Theatrical Distribution, Marketing Globalization, Campaign Management, and Theatrical Marketing teams to determine a localization and distribution asset strategy for Marketing behind each film release
- Coordinate with Campaign Management and Project Management teams to ensure Marketing initiatives are prioritized and executed
- Develop and implement standardized practices for title metadata within the marketing operations framework
- Collaborate with teams to ensure alignment with industry standards and business objectives
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive title registry system across marketing operations
- Ensure the accurate entry of title-related information, including details such as release dates, formats, and regional variations
- Oversee the creation and management of metadata schemas for asset management pipelines, ensuring consistency and compatibility
- Collaborate with technology and data teams to integrate metadata schemas into asset management systems
- In partnership with the Marketing Solutions team, lead the development, viability, build-out, and deployment of the Marketing MAM to ensure all partner and distribution needs are met
- In the role of Senior Manager, Marketing Distribution you will report to the Senior Director, Marketing Production & Operations

Despite this growth, distribution has historically posed challenges, with series and films often reaching overseas audiences through disparate channels, if at all. Crunchyroll emerged to address this issue by consolidating the largest collection of anime into a single streaming service.
Sony's acquisition of Crunchyroll in 2021 for $1.75B expanded the platform's reach, integrating Sony's extensive animation library into its offerings. this move also positioned Crunchyroll for heightened competition against streaming giant Netflix, known for its substantial investments in anime production and acquisition. Currently, Crunchyroll maintains an unrivaled library of anime content, boasting over 44,000 episodes that have attracted over 0M paying subscribers.
While Crunchyroll initially offered a free, ad-supported tier to its vast community, it appears poised to phase out this option, transitioning to a subscription-based model for all new series. Despite this shift, the platform has implemented a global reduction in fees to stimulate subscription uptake. The success of this strategy remains to be seen, but past experiences with companies like Hulu suggest that it may drive subscription growth and mitigate piracy
