Who you are

  • 15+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers and leading large-scale or complex technical initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of technical program managers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technology and business challenges
  • Experience working in consumer-facing product development, with a focus on search, shopping, personalization, and content
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and leveraging machine learning algorithms for product features
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in user experience, search, personalization, and e-commerce
  • Capable of building credibility and fostering connections with senior executives and team members
  • Skilled in fostering organizational growth and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Knowledge of software development processes and best practices

What the job involves

  • Pinterest is looking for an experienced and motivated Director, TPM to play a critical role across all consumer Pinterest products, ensuring that we deliver a personalized experience enabling Pinners to search, discover their taste, shop and ultimately create a life they love
  • This role is fundamental to Pinterest’s growth in the next years
  • Lead, grow and manage a team of experienced Technical Program Managers, providing leadership and guidance to drive successful program execution
  • Ensure the Core organization T/PgM needs are covered by proactively identifying resource gaps and misaligned priorities
  • In partnership with the VP of Strategy and Operations secure funding and reprioritize allocation across the team
  • Work closely with the Core VP of Engineering and VP of Product to contribute to the product and technology strategy
  • Proactively identify high-impact programs, drive yearly planning across Core and ensure our priorities, incremental opex and infrastructure costs are aligned with the business strategy and approved by our executive team
  • Define and manage the operating rhythms for the Core team including execution and business reviews
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment, prioritize tasks, and make crucial decisions in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders
  • Engage with a stakeholder across engineering, product and design at all levels, establishing and maintaining trusted connections
