Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in product marketing, at least 3 of which should be at a high-growth technology company
- Experience marketing to prosumers and SMB customers
- A proven track record working with cross functional teams and developing rapport across product, marketing, sales, operations, and support
- Deep customer and competitive insights experience. You can gather quantitative and qualitative data to inform the insights that drive your product marketing recommendations
- Hands-on ability to create a range of marketing assets including on-message product explainers, demo videos, sales pitch-decks, etc
- Proven track record of exceptional performance in a fast-paced environment and organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Superb attention to detail. Able to communicate impeccably, verbally and in writing
What the job involves
- As the first Product Marketing Lead, you will spearhead positioning, messaging, go-to-market and adoption of new and existing products
- Drive collaboration across functions (marketing, product, sales, operations, etc.) towards growing the adoption of Mudflap products and features
- Develop customer and competitive insights, positioning and messaging, persona development, GTM planning, and sales enablement
- Ensure cross-functional readiness for rollouts by equipping Mudflap teams with customer-facing information and collateral
- Structure the product brand architecture to help align a growing portfolio
- Ensure that our customer-facing communications are always up-to-date with the most relevant product positioning and messaging
- Own competitive tracking to ensure Mudflap is well-positioned and differentiated in the market
- Inspire and generate excitement for the products across multiple mediums
Our take
Owner-operators make up 9% of the truckers on the road, in other words 680,000 small businesses forming the backbone of the U.S’s crucial trucking industry. However, only big fleets get major fuel discounts because they have large gallon volumes, leaving these self-employed truckers to pay full price.
Mudflap is bringing those savings to owner operators & small fleets. When drivers sign up for the app, they join tens of thousands of users which Mudflap then leverage to drive sales for truck stops who offer discounts on fuel in return. It’s a smart model which massively simplifies the process for earning discounts compared to the old route of a fuel card which requires a credit check.
Stop managers could be sceptical about working with mobile payments in return for a promise of increased demand. However, the company provides its entire network with a Mudflap tablet through which to handle all payment transactions within the network, making it easy for whoever is behind the counter.
