Who you are

  • Experience working with fast-growth technology company, strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of Enterprise Software sales experience is required
  • Knowledge of the supply-chain and logistics/transportation space is mandatory
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and executive audiences, whether it's an impromptu whiteboard discussion or a prepared presentation and demo
  • Ability to be strategic, but still roll up your sleeves to accomplish what needs to be done
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate in a rapidly-changing, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a cadence of delivering consistent results,
  • Track record of carrying an annual quota of $1M+
  • Previous sales process & methodology training

What the job involves

  • As an Account Executive at Altana Technologies, you'll be at the forefront of our sales initiatives, playing a crucial role in growing our footprint with Logistics Service Providers
  • You'll be working closely with various teams, including Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing to drive sales cycles and build new business pipeline
  • This position reports directly to the Director of Logistics and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing business
  • Develop detailed sales plans and sales forecasts
  • Drive active sales cycles while building new business pipeline through prospecting and relationship building with mid-sized Shippers
  • Manage a large portfolio of Logistics Service Provider accounts from Ocean Liners to Customs Brokers
  • Summarize product feedback gathered from customer meetings and act as advocate for our customers with internal development and product teams
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of logistics industry,
  • Ability to sell across multiple Lines of Business simultaneously (IT, Procurement, Transportation, Supply Chain/Logistics),
  • Travel to meet with clients, prospects and partners

Our take

Altana AI’s platform provides a shared source of truth for the global supply chain. The idea is that this will help businesses and governing powers optimize global commerce which, over the past few years, has shot up on the list of international priorities. With three quarters of businesses reporting recent supply chain disruptions, and governments increasingly concerned with mitigating security threats, data-driven visibility is more sought after than ever before.

Crucially, the platform doesn’t require data sharing to create global intelligence, instead using a federated machine learning approach. This is a nut many big-data companies have been trying to crack, and Altana AI’s success has attracted the company interest from top-tier investors like Google Ventures and Floating Point alongside contracts with the UK Department of Business & Trade. A number of other headline enterprises and government agencies are already on the company's customer roster.

With companies looking to recoup some of the $4 trillion reportedly lost in supply chain disruptions over recent years, and the push for global databases getting stronger, logistics startups are having a fruitful investment period. Altana is crafting a remarkable product at a highly marketable time, and with good uptake so far. Backed by substantial funding, Altana is set for a strong few years.
