Who you are
- 3-5 years of Finance, FP&A, Business Planning, or similar experience in CPG industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High energy and adaptability for a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience in a high-growth startup, preferably DTC

- Proven experience managing and building financial Operating Models
- Tech and data-savvy with expertise in Excel, Quickbooks, Tableau, and other finance programs

What the job involves
- Strategic Finance:
- Evaluate and enhance the current Operating Model for improved accuracy in financial forecasting
- Manage budgeting/forecasting cycles, gathering input and preparing outputs
- Develop a rolling financial forecast for revenue, margin, and operating expenses, ensuring a forward-looking financial perspective
- Provide timely financial recommendations for scenario analysis and business case evaluations
- Oversee cashflow outlook, ensuring an optimal Cash to Opex ratio to safeguard financial health
- Finance Team Management:
- Assess current resources and progressively build, direct, and lead a Finance team
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Financial Panning:
- Actively participate in the Sales and Operations planning process, providing trend analysis and financial expertise
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team for financial forecasting and profitability insights
- Develop and implement strategies for financial planning and analysis that align with business objectives
- Risk Management
- Identify and communicate potential financial risks and opportunities
- Monitor key business metrics analyze risks, and propose solutions for maximizing goals
- Establish and refine risk management protocols to enhance financial resilience
- Accounting:
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure proper GA AP treatment of expenses and expenditures
- Maintain high Accounting integrity for effective audit preparation
Our take
HVMN – Health Via Modern Nutrition – is a supplement manufacturing company that focuses on ketone drinks, nootropic supplements, and other products that support a ketogenic diet. What sets the company apart from its competitors is its dedication to using FDA and WADA compliant ingredients as well as consistently active research and work with 3rd parties (including several universities).
One of the biggest drawbacks to ketone drinks is the taste. Regardless of brand, most everyone that has had a ketone drink will resoundingly agree they can be hard to choke down. While HVMN has tried to improve the taste of the newest version of its drink compared to its first product, it will have to rely on proving the benefits are worth the typically unpleasant consumption experience.
Initially an e-commerce brand, the company offers one-time online purchases as well as subscription options, capitalizing on the increasing transition to online shopping. The company has since expanded to launch its Ketone-IQ drinks in all of the nearly 400 Sprouts Farmers market grocery stores across the nation.
