Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for a talented Director, Sales who thrives with building and creating new business relationships that impact results
- You are polished, consultative, and thrive initiating strategic partnerships with business leaders and key stakeholders that drive meaningful revenue for one of the largest sectors of the business
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 15+ years experience in a quota-bearing sales role, ideally in SaaS building a robust enterprise business from scratch where you delivered or exceeded on net new revenue opportunities
- Deep industry knowledge of various verticals and proven ability to prospect them beyond your own Rolodex and networking channels
- Outstanding communications and influencing skills; must be able to present solutions on your own and build rapport with all levels and functions of an organization
- Product oriented consultant mindset; must be able to demonstrate product capabilities and understand business and technical requirements
- Excel in a fast-paced, fun, start-up environment where you can navigate the complexities and needs of various clients, their size, industry, and lifecycle
- Comfortable with change in a high-growth organization: ability to demonstrate comfort with ambiguity, adapt quickly and be effective in new situations in a highly dynamic setting
- Start-up mentality; you are team-oriented, resilient, empathetic, and no ego
What the job involves
- You are the face of Firework and will evangelize Firework’s innovative SaaS solutions to enterprise brands within the fashion sector
- This role will focus primarily on the auto industry
- Work cross-functionally with the global team to set priorities and make key strategic decisions for acquiring and growing the enterprise portfolio across a variety of verticals
- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers at all levels (brands in various industries) in order to influence, position, and differentiate the company’s suite of products as the top-tier solution for the key ICPs
- Act as a strategic advisor and product consultant to prospects; understand business objectives, product capabilities, frame the company’s new and innovative value proposition
- Continuously build and prospect to maintain a growing pipeline through strategic outreach and other channels such as industry events while owning and driving the entire sales funnel to acquire new logo and expansion opportunities
- Negotiate commercial contracts in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders such as legal, finance, and customer success through launch
- Continuously assess the entire SaaS revenue operations and brand acquisition process to ensure it continues to scale efficiently while delivering an outstanding product and service experience
Our take
Live-streamed shopping has long been popular in China. In 2020, the first 30 minutes of Alibaba’s Singles’ Day presales campaign on Taobao Live generated an impressive $7.5 billion in total transaction value. Firework is helping to bring these kinds of video-based eCommerce experiences to a Western audience with a smart commercial strategy.
Originally launched as a standalone social platform featuring swipe-able web stories, Firework made a strategic shift towards a more streamlined B2B model. It now provides services to partners such as Albertsons, a prominent grocery chain, by granting them access to its video technology infrastructure. This enables partners to effortlessly launch diverse and interactive shippable videos on their respective websites. The outcome of this pivot has paid off, with Firework emerging as the leading global platform of its kind.
The real money in shoppable videos is ultimately live-streamed experiences, which are still not landing for American audiences. Despite this, Firework’s more complete offering, including the ability to directly collect consumer data and learn about a shopper’s behaviour, means that American brands are giving the startup business ahead of this anticipated cultural shift.
