Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of employment law experience, including employment litigation experience
- Past law firm experience
- Technology company experience preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic organization preferred
- Member in good standing of the California Bar
What the job involves
- Roblox is looking for an expert Employment Counsel to join our Legal team
- In this role, you will advise the People and Employee Relations teams and other business leaders to ensure ongoing risk management and compliance and support for employment disputes
- You will report to our Senior Employment Counsel
- Provide advice and counsel to the Company on employment related issues, including but not limited to recruiting, wage & hour compliance, contract or contingent workers, employee relations, performance management, discipline and terminations, workplace investigations, reasonable accommodations, leave of absence, work permits, and discrimination
- Support employee escalations, employment demand letters, and employment litigation matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination disputes
- Assist with employment investigations
- Oversee the drafting and negotiation of offer letters and employment-related agreements, including severance, separation, restrictive covenant, retention, and other employment-related agreements
- Design and drive internal People team audits
- Assist the People teams in developing and implementing policies, procedures and training programs to drive compliance with employment laws
- Draft employee-facing policies, handbooks, and other resources
- Monitor new laws, regulations and decisions affecting the substantive legal areas above and provide strategic, preventative advice to the People teams and cross functional partners
- Identify and implement process improvements that help the legal team, the People teams and the business scale for growth
- Support Legal department and team related projects, as assigned
