Who you are
- Enrolled in a master's university program in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, ideally with a focus on Controlling, Accounting, Tax, or Treasury
- First practical experience in Finance (e.g., internships or vocational training) is highly appreciated
- Strong analytical mindset and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently in a fast-paced, international environment
- Solid skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and clear communication style
- Fluent in German and proficient in English
What the job involves
- As a Working Student in Finance & Operations, you’ll be an integral part of our Finance and Operations team, supporting core processes that keep our business running smoothly
- You’ll gain hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable, Expense Management, and Financial Reporting while working closely with cross-functional teams in an international environment
- Process and record incoming and outgoing invoices with precision and proper documentation
- Manage payment cycles, monitor due dates, and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure up-to-date financial records
- Review and process employee expense reports
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accuracy of claims
- Support the monthly and quarterly preparation of financial statements and internal reports
- Assist in audit preparations by compiling necessary documentation and answering auditor inquiries
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including employee onboarding, offboarding
- Support payroll preparation and processing in collaboration with finance and external providers
- Maintain and update employee records and HR data in Personio, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Application process
- Initial Screening: If your application matches our requirements, we invite you to an initial video call to explore the fit. In this 30-45 minutes interview, you will get to know us and the role. The interviewer will be interested in your relevant experiences and skills, as well as answer any question on the company and the role itself that you may have
- Deep Dive: In this phase, a domain expert from our team will assess your skills and knowledge required for the role by asking you about meaningful experiences or your solutions for specific scenarios in line with the role we are staffing
- Final Interview: Finally, we invite you for up to three hours of targeted sessions with our founders, talking about our culture and meeting future co-workers on the ground

Apheris' platform enables businesses to extract value from this data, while preserving privacy, by using techniques such as decentralised computing, federated learning and cryptographic protocols.
The unique aspect of Apheris' platform is the ability for multiple parties to analyse their data together without being pre-occupied with data privacy. Customers use the platform for drug discovery, new product research, and supply chain optimisation for a range of benefits (such as improving business processes and unlocking new insights from data).
Apheris' customers include BCG and Johnson & Johnson, highlighting its appeal to enterprise-level companies in providing a reliable, secure platform for collaborative data science. It has raised considerable funding, the last of which was secured in 2025, which is supporting the accelerated development of its platform.
