Role
Who you are
- Minimum 3 years of design experience, knowledge of the performance and streetwear industry a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe suite programs and Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with designing and executing graphics, all-over prints, and logos
- Strong knowledge of screen-printing applications and techniques
- Strong focus, initiative and organization skills
- Experience developing a brand identity
- Ability to coach, grow and develop designers at all levels
- Strong design and conceptual skills as well as strong sense of style and color
- Thorough knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color use, sewing techniques, graphics and trim
- Bonus if you have experience illustrating and using Procreate
What the job involves
- Overtime is looking for our next Apparel Graphics Designer who will help build products that engage and delight our athletes and our fans
- His key position will be responsible for researching trends, ideation of new concepts, and creating compelling garments to meet the brand aesthetic
- Key responsibilities entail designing apparel concepts that meet the product brief and seasonal design direction set by the Creative Director and Senior Management Team
- Accurately depict hand-drawn sketches, graphic applications, and ideas as digitally rendered line art, technical drawings, and other required art / illustrationsPartner with apparel designers to co-create concept boards that communicate seasonal direction and design theme application to product line
- Through graphic application translate fashion, streetwear and cultural trends to the performance apparel lines
- Employ multi-dimensional thinking to ideate and discover new perspectives, viewpoints, or approaches
- Use unorthodox or atypical ways of solving problems to conceive innovative, usable concepts/ideas
- Select appropriate methods of communications to accurately convey technical information in informal and formal situations
- Ensure design reflects market needs and product brief requirements
- Gather and apply market research and/or consumer feedback to accurately anticipate and fulfill consumer needs, and identify consumers and trends

Our take
Gen Z prefers short-form highlights content to full sports league matches, and tight NBA licensing restrictions mean that independent content platforms can’t trim matches to cater to this younger audience. Overtime saw this problem and turned it into a market opportunity.
It has built a short-form content empire around unlicensed amateur sports leagues, with a focus on basketball. It has a substantial multi-platform presence across social media, featuring reality-TV style dispatches and shows focused on up-and-coming players with strong viral potential.
The brand now has over 55 million followers, most of them Gen Z or younger Millennials, and its videos rack up well over 1 billion views each month. This brings in substantial ad revenue for Overtime, supplemented with merchandise sales. It has also recently ventured into the NFT space with its partnership with Magic Eden.
The company has also launched its own youth basketball league and pulled in high-profile backers including Jeff Bezos, Drake, and Kevin Durant, which is remarkable progress for the still relatively young company. With a comfortable and unchallenged position in this niche, Overtime looks set to continue building out a leading platform.
