Role

Who you are

  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a client-facing or product management role, ideally B2B dealing with complex enterprise software
  • Commercial experience working within payments, financial services, marketplaces, or SaaS platforms
  • A born networker with high energy, self-starter with a proven commercial and organizational strength, entrepreneurial track record and strong negotiation skills
  • A strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and the ability to lead and manage time-sensitive, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial environment with little supervision
  • A natural communicator and team player, comfortable driving technical and commercial discussions
  • A problem solver, naturally curious and comfortable navigating ambiguity to find solutions for technical, commercial, and operational challenges
  • A cross functional project manager of commercial, operational, and technical projects
  • Have a hands-on mentality being able to set the path for your platform merchants and their onboarding, payment, payout and reporting setup, at the same time make smart decisions on prioritization and delegation while looking at short- and long term planning
  • You have full professional written and verbal proficiency in English (other languages are a plus)

  • Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding customer experience, finding new opportunities, and driving mutual success for Adyen and our customers
  • As a Senior Platforms Account Manager in New York you will educate and lead our partners through continuous growth on the Adyen for Platforms solution
  • The focus will be on global SaaS platforms and E-Commerce marketplaces who give access to a range of merchants and individuals; so you’re not only building long lasting relationships, but also help activate new revenue streams through Adyen’s solutions beyond payments processing
  • The strong partnership focus within Account Management will drive innovation, scalability and expansion to enable our partners to build a profitable payments layer into their solutions, while supporting its optimal integration into the Sales, Onboarding, Risk, Finance and Product Teams on the customer’s side
  • Be the main point of contact, educator, and trusted adviser for all of your customer’s different departments
  • Power the growth of your customer’s platform in multiple channels and regions, through proactive advisory in Adyen’s products and services as well as the international payments landscape
  • Manage the integration of the platform into various Adyen for Platforms product offerings, as well as help set up and constantly improve their reporting/ analysis and APIs into their backend and frontend UI
  • Work closely with the other Adyen offices around the globe, with Technical and Sales teams to realize individual and thought-through integrations for platforms based on their needs
  • Understand the evolving needs of the customer and the market and serve as a feedback loop for Adyen’s product team to help identify improvements and developments for continued innovation
  • Enable Platforms for scalability through products and marketing that fit their strategy and roadmaps

Our take

Adyen has been one of the most successful businesses in Europe over the last decade. When it went public in 2018 at a valuation of €7bn, it raised over €1bn and its share price popped on the first day, resulting in a valuation of €14bn. Its valuation has continued to climb by the billions.

Adyen competes with large players like PayPal, as well as outsized startups like Stripe, to power payments and provide other infrastructure to conduct digital transactions. Disrupters in the field have been buoyed by a strong rise in eCommerce activity, where some or all of a transaction by a customer is made either online or by mobile.

Adyen has been one of the companies riding the wave by helping to reduce the friction between a company choosing to take payments online, and actually being able to do it. That can take multiple steps and agreements across numerous countries — Adyen’s pitch is that it essentially handles all of it in the backend as a service for its users. Notable partners have included Autocanteen, a touchless self-checkout solution for the hospitality industry, and BILL, a small business-focused fintech platform.
