Role
Who you are
- 5+ years experience building robust, accessible web applications with a strong focus on frontend technologies
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
- Experience coaching and mentoring teammates
- Experience with automated testing of JavaScript applications
- Experience with TypeScript
- Experience with static site generators and headless CMSs (we use Gatsby, Astro, and Contentful)
- Experience with developing optimized CI/CD pipelines
Desirable
- Expertise leveraging Content Delivery Networks to improve performance and user experiences
- Driving SEO improvements for a marketing site
- Monitoring site health using Sentry, New Relic, etc
What the job involves
- The Web Engineering team works collaboratively with Fastly’s marketing, product and engineering organizations to share Fastly’s story and value across our global marketing properties
- As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications that support our marketing and developer relations initiatives
- You will craft engaging experiences and deliver innovative solutions that leverage Fastly’s platform to drive customer engagement and business growth
- Architect, develop, and maintain robust, scalable web applications using modern technologies and frameworks
- Provide constructive code reviews; collaboratively defining and maintaining code standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Implement strategies to improve page load times, reduce resource usage, and protect against vulnerabilities
- Mentor engineers, providing guidance on technical best practices and problem-solving techniques
