Who you are
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 5+ years of trademark or marketing experience at a law firm, government or in-house role
- Experience building and overseeing a trademark or copyright portfolio
- Experience reviewing marketing materials for compliance with advertising law
- Experience managing multiple high priority projects simultaneously
- Able to develop strategies, manage tight timelines, and provide regular reporting
What the job involves
- Roblox is looking for a Brand and Marketing Counsel to join our Legal team
- You will guide strategy for our trademark portfolio and marketing compliance, including issues related to trademarks, advertising law, consumer protection, publicity rights, intellectual property, domain names, and antitrust
- We are a growing legal team working on complex issues in a fun, exciting, and evolving environment
- Advise on a broad range of strategic trademark matters including worldwide clearance and prosecution, oppositions and dispute resolution
- Provide comprehensive legal support for all marketing materials, promotional campaigns, communications initiatives, and commercial announcements across the organization including the Roblox's developer conference
- Work cross-functionally to manage anti-counterfeiting and online brand enforcement efforts, including enforcement on marketplaces and social media platforms
- Manage our domain name portfolio
- Collaborate with and manage outside counsel
- Manage several time-sensitive projects at once, with eagerness to take on the latest legal issues
- You will report to Head of IP and Technology Licensing
- Ensure creative marketing material follows brand guidelines
- Tuesday-Thursday in-office and Monday/Friday remote
