Who you are

4+ years of progressive HR/People experience, with a minimum of 2 years working in an HR/People Business Partner capacity, ideally at a fast-growing startup
Demonstrated expertise in building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and driving strategic business impact through people initiatives
Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret people and organizational data effectively
Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and driving organizational development and change
Proven ability to advise leaders on how to build, lead, and grow effective teams

What the job involves

We are searching for a People Business Partner to drive people initiatives that align strategically with our growing business objectives. In this highly influential role, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all people-related matters while coaching and developing teams to achieve business outcomes
You'll be influential in shaping organizational design and strategy, leading talent management initiatives, and driving a culture of high performance, urgency and engagement
You will report to the Senior Manager of People Business Partners. You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters and will operate in a hybrid environment with 2 days per week in the office (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
Build strong partnerships with senior leaders and people managers, becoming a trusted advisor and providing strategic HR/People guidance to drive successful business outcomes
Drive organizational design efforts, partnering with leaders to optimize structures, roles, and responsibilities
Oversee complex employee relations issues, conducting investigations, providing guidance, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations
Analyze people metrics adding further insight into the overall health of our teams
Design and facilitate leadership development programs, coaching managers and leaders on effective people management
Partner with Sr. Manager, People Business Partners to design and run key people processes, including performance reviews, calibrations, promotions, compensation planning, and workforce planning
Champion our values and culture, being a role model for these and supporting the continual embedding of them in everything we do
Stay up-to-date on People/HR trends, best practices, and legal compliance requirements

However, despite a modern facade the beauty industry lacks specialised software and still runs on generic CRMs and basic spreadsheets. Recognising a gap in the market, GlossGenius has stepped in to provided a specialised business management platform for beauty salons, spas and studios.

With no competition in this niche, GlossGenius has swiftly captured a large market share, with triple-digit year on year revenue growth. It serves over 40,000 businesses (70% of which are women-owned) and has more than $2 billion in annual transactions on the platform.

GlossGenius has raised a large amount of capital in several funding rounds closed in quick succession. It is aiming to accelerate platform development off the back of its releasing of consumer experience, payment and automation products. It is well on the way to fulfilling its long-term aim of developing into the Toast of the beauty industry.
