- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in People Operations & Analytics or a similar analytical & operational role
- Ideally a strong understanding of compensation, token allocation, and compliance, ideally with experience managing token or equivalent equity programs (RTUs, RSUs, etc.)
- Proficient in HR systems (HiBob) and data analytics tools, with expertise in developing and analyzing KPIs
- Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-growth startup/scale-up environments, ideally in remote or asynchronous setups
- Ability to independently identify operational gaps and implement data-driven solutions
- Proven financial and operational acumen, capable of managing payroll, benefits, and compensation analytics with a focus on driving business impact
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, methodical approach to policy development and benchmarking
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior People Operations & Analytics Manager to lead and drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making across our People function
- You will work very closely with the Business Ops and People Ops teams, and collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and Legal to ensure seamless execution of projects
- Compensation/Token Subject Matter Expert: Become the expert on token pool planning, compliance, and allocations. Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and external vendors on compensation and token strategy
- People Analytics & Operations Excellence: Develop and maintain people analytics dashboards, tracking key metrics like headcount, retention, and benefits usage. Lead strategic initiatives to improve People Operations processes
- Business & Finance Partnership: Work with Finance to deliver payroll, benefits, and cost analysis, including 401k reporting, benefits cost-benefit analysis, flexible time off analysis, etc
- HR Data Management & System Improvements: Maintain 100% data accuracy and integrity within HR systems (HiBob), ensuring efficient reporting and seamless compliance monitoring
- Policy Development & Benchmarking: Drive policy development on topics such as parental leave and offsite guidelines. Ensure alignment with the company’s long-term strategy through strong documentation and benchmarking
- EOR Provider Assessment: Lead the evaluation of external HR service providers (e.g., Deel, Toku) to optimize service quality and cost-effectiveness
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership and various departments to ensure seamless communication and execution of people initiatives
Our take
While the Ethereum network offers users highly rated security, the trade-off is that its network volume isn’t sufficient to support fast, cheap transactions. Matter Labs is one of a small number of companies that are building scaling protocols through its zero-knowledge proof-driven product, zkSync.
It’s not the only company of its kind, with the likes of Arbitrum and Optimism also receiving plenty of publicity and funding. However, Matter Labs' zero-knowledge proof approach has been praised for both its transaction speed and security. If it were easy, however, many more companies would be doing it, so it appears that Matter Labs has made a significant headstart on the competition.
Over the last couple of years, the startup has secured some major funding from high-profile investors such as Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), and Union Square Ventures. Matter Labs released its renamed ZkSync Era - a zero-knowledge, open-source security platform on Ethereum in 2023. Matter Labs is now predicting zero-knowledge cryptography to outlive alternative "optimistic" security tech from the likes of Arbitrum.
