- The right candidate will have prior experience in an office or administrative role, enjoy creating order, and be ready to pitch in wherever needed

- 2+ years of experience in an administrative, office coordination, or similar support role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Slack
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced office setting
- Warm, helpful, and proactive approach to supporting a team
- Brings enthusiasm, friendliness, and a team-first mindset; serves as a positive representative of Outschool culture
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-moving company is a plus
What the job involves
- Outschool is looking for a highly organized and proactive Office Coordinator to help keep our San Francisco office running smoothly
- This role includes supporting daily workplace operations, assisting with in-office coordination, and providing light administrative support to company leaders
- You’ll work closely with a manager who brings decades of administrative leadership experience and values mentorship
- This is a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in workplace and executive support while developing your skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Provide in-office support for visiting team members or events such as team offsites and administrative support to the COO and potentially other executives (primarily calendar-related)
- Workplace/Culture Support:
- Serve as the go-to in-office point of contact for staff needs and SF office upkeep, including meal coordination
- Monitor office supplies and coordinate orders as needed
- Support in-office culture moments and events as requested
- Provide on-site support for in-office gatherings such as Heads’ Offsites and other team events
- Help arrange local SF activities and team-building events
- Help maintain a vibrant, inclusive, and upbeat environment that reflects Outschool's culture and values
- Administrative Support:
- Coordinate calendar needs and schedule meetings for the COO and potentially other executives; support travel bookings as needed
- Assist with creating or editing documents and slides, taking meeting notes, and following up on tasks for the COO and potentially other executives
- Handle sensitive information with discretion
Our take
The COVID19 pandemic saw radical changes to the needs of institutions, companies, and individuals. A few select businesses were, by chance, perfectly poised to meet them. One such company is Outschool. Its online platform for extracurricular classes is aimed at homeschooled students, a group that ballooned over 2020.
Outschool achieved Unicorn status in mid-2021, closing a $75M Series C round. The hope of Outschool, and the tele-teaching sector at large, is that lucrative investment rounds like this mean hybrid online/offline learning is here to stay. Certainly, Outschool enjoyed swift growth and a place in Y Combinator years before lockdown began. Importantly, it has maintained an encouraging level of growth as schools reopen, and is capitalizing on the shift towards hybrid learning.
With the development of alternative education post-pandemic, Outschool continues to remain committed to empowering parents wiand students with a variety of flexible and personalized learning opportunities. And with a successful 2024 under its belt, the future is sure to be one of even more growth for the company.
