- Estendio is a mission-driven accessibility start-up dedicated to transforming how neurodivergent individuals navigate their educational and professional journeys
- Since launching our first product, Present Pal, in 2018, we have empowered students across over 150 universities in the UK and US to excel in their presentations and communication skills - growing to a team of 17. Building on this success, we are now launching our second product, Tailo, an innovative SaaS platform designed to revolutionise content accessibility and comprehension.

With Tailo, we aim to personalise the reading experience for every mind, ensuring that content is accessible and comprehensible for all. Tailo is set to disrupt the accessibility market, with a focus on expanding into both educational and professional sectors across Europe and N. America
- As the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer (COO-CFO), you will be at the forefront of Estendio’s next phase of growth. This role is not just about managing the numbers—it’s about shaping the future of a company with a profound social impact
- Reporting to the CEO, your main focus initially will be on leading our Series A fundraising efforts and overseeing financial planning; however pivotal to this role is driving operational excellence as we scale from an MVP to a market-leading product
- We’re seeking a dynamic leader with a proven track record in corporate finance and/or scaling SaaS startups. You should have deep expertise in fundraising, financial management and operational strategy. Your ability to manage complexity, think strategically, and execute with precision will be essential as we navigate this exciting growth phase. This role demands someone who can balance the big picture with the details, driving both financial performance and operational success
- Fundraising expertise: Proven experience leading successful fundraising efforts, particularly in the tech or SaaS space
- Operational excellence: Extensive experience in operational leadership roles, with a strong track record of organising teams for success, and delivering strategic goals on time and within budget
- Financial acumen: Strong background in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and investor relations
- Leadership: Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to organise, inspire and motivate a high-performing team
- Strategic thinking: Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions that drive business growth
- Execution focused: Detail-oriented and execution-focused, with a relentless drive to achieve operational excellence
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Technology: Ability to leverage technology in the designing & implementing of automated processes to prepare us well for the company we are becoming
- Your strategic insight combined with financial and operational expertise will be crucial in guiding Estendio through rapid growth, ensuring that we remain agile, efficient, and financially robust

What the job involves
- Fundraising and financial strategy
- Lead fundraising efforts: Develop and execute a fundraising strategy that aligns with Estendio's growth objectives. Build relationships with investors, manage the due diligence process, and secure capital to fuel our expansion
- Financial planning: Oversee financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure financial health and sustainability as we scale
- Investor relations: Manage relationships with current and potential investors, providing transparent and regular updates on financial performance and strategic milestones
- Operational leadership
- Execution of strategic plan: Lead the execution of Estendio’s strategic plan, ensuring that all operational goals are met on time and within budget. This includes the successful roll-out of Tailo across key markets
- Team management: Ensure our teams are set up for success, and organised cross functionally at the right time. Build, lead, and mentor the finance and operations team, ensuring that we have the talent and resources needed to deliver on our goals. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Process optimisation: Develop and implement processes that enhance operational efficiency and scalability, with automation front of mind. Identify and mitigate risks, and ensure that operations are aligned with business objectives
- Delivery and Performance
- Business Delivery: Oversee the delivery of our roadmap, ensuring that Tailo and other products meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement the right metrics for us to monitor operational success and drive continuous improvement. Regularly review performance data and make strategic adjustments as needed

Estendio is a high-growth education technology company on a mission to make learning more accessible to all. The company's solutions support students with learning differences and its driven to make a real impact.
In 2014, Founder Chris Hughes was a student with dyslexia at the University of Strathclyde and realised that the results of his business degree would rely largely on his ability to present to his peers. After consulting with the university's disability service and dyslexia experts, Chris realised there was no direct or accessible solutions for presentation anxiety. With Chris determined to ensure that his public speaking fears didn't lead to his exclusion, he founded Estendio and began developing its first app, Present Pal.
Since launching the Present Pal app in 2018, Estendio now supports tens of thousands of people in the UK and North America. Its experienced quick expansion and its only getting started.
