Who you are
- Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it. We’d love for you to join us!
- Vanta’s levels are a little different than other tech companies- we often see people with Staff or Principal titles at other organizations with scope that matches our Senior level
- Minimum of 7 years of product-side Fullstack experience; there is no maximum, we often hire Senior Engineers who have 7–10+ years baseline of product delivery and tech lead experience
- Have experience with our stack: Typescript, React, GraphQL
- Has a track record of successfully led highly ambiguous and complex project where problems and solutions are not well defined, while coordinating groups of engineers and working with cross functional stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy, align product and engineering needs, and land high-quality outcomes
- Trusted to lead not just code, but also planning, process, and culture
- Mentors across levels at a team-wide scale; a technical role model and coach. Contributes to/leads programs which uplevel the code quality of the team
What the job involves
- As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer, you’ll lead high-impact, ambiguous projects across our entire technical stack, playing a key role in shaping the direction of our product
- You’ll collaborate closely with customers to deeply understand their needs and mentor a talented engineering team to deliver innovative, scalable solutions

- As a Senior Software Engineer at Vanta, you’ll be responsible for leading complex, cross-functional projects that may span across teams and systems
- Senior Engineers at Vanta have a demonstrated history of leadership—you will define architecture, scope and assign work, align stakeholders, mentor engineers, and ship critical components, and you have a lengthy track record of doing this
- You’ll help develop and scale Vanta’s Trust Products, and guide technical growth across the org
- Lead initiatives: bring clarity to ambiguity, define product scope, and solve for technical complexity
- Work with Product and Design partners to shape technical solutions that meet real customer needs
- Define architecture, delegate implementation across multiple engineers, and ensure successful outcomes
- Deliver key portions of the project directly while reviewing and unblocking others
- Drive knowledge sharing and mentor engineers, including senior engineers
- Setting long term technical strategy for your team and raise engineering quality bar
Our take
The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
