Who you are
- You will bring a mix of skills including strong analytics, strategic thinking, and stakeholder and project management to execute the work necessary to take projects from concept to delivery
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution
- 5+ years of demonstrated high performance in management consulting and/or Business Operations and Strategy-based roles
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and GSheets/Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to break down complex problems into smaller, discrete chunks
- Experience in building trust and collaborating effectively alongside multiple stakeholders and executives in a fast moving environment
Desirable
- 1+ years of experience at a high growth startup
- Familiarity in leveraging Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) to drive and communicate insights
- Expertise in directly running or overseeing planning process / project management
- Experience in launching a new product, business line, and/or initiative from ideation to delivery
What the job involves
- Rula’s Business Operations team is a group of analytical and strategic generalists responsible for helping identify, diagnose and build solutions for the company’s highest-priority problems
- We support the strategic planning process and company operating system, lead cross-functional initiatives and strike teams, partner with executives to define and achieve our company OKRs, and ensure leaders constantly have a pulse on the health of the business
- We use data to identify the areas we should be working on, and serve as the primary owners of complex, cross-functional initiatives
- We are seeking a Sr. Business Operations Manager to join the Strategic Projects and Operations Team (SPOT)
- This person will guide some of the company’s most impactful, diverse and complex, strategic cross-functional projects across departments
- This role is pivotal in delivering on projects aligned with Rula's highest priorities and initiatives
- Example projects could include: develop and launch a system to ensure and improve quality for >10k nationwide therapists, scope and build an in-person therapy offering, improve first visit completion and patient retention rates
Our take
More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, containing giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers do mark it out against the crowd. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasize its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
