Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (internships included)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas)
- Familiarity with US GAAP is preferred
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Receptive to change – is flexible. Seeks and adopts improved approaches and processes
- Initiates action – is results oriented, takes responsibility for actions and outcomes. Meets commitments and strives for high performance

What the job involves
- Our Staff Accountant supports accurate and timely general ledger activities and ensures compliance with UpKeep’s financial policies
- This role plays a vital part in daily accounting operations and contributes to the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting across the company
- Assist with global month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes by ensuring timely customer invoicing and vendor payments
- Prepare routine general ledger account reconciliations and assist with revenue and expense analysis
- Assist in maintaining supporting documentation for accounting transactions in accordance with internal controls
- Provide audit support by gathering requested documentation and preparing basic audit schedules
- Help compile tax-related information and coordinate with external tax consultants as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures
