Who you are
- Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js, and experience with TypeScript and SSJS
- Experience with cloud services such as Azure, especially for package management (e.g., Azure Artifacts)
- Experience with Storybook for component development and documentation
- Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and tools
- Strong knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices
- Experience implementing SEO strategies and structured data (JSON-LD schemas)
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in React, Next.js, and modern front-end tooling to join our Client Technology Engineering team
- You’ll be responsible for building high-quality, scalable web applications that span across multiple digital products, including those integrated into a broader technology ecosystem
- In the client technology team we strive to give our colleagues and clients an exceptional experience, and we focus on putting them at the heart of what we do
- This role involves working with a cloud-native front-end platform optimised for performance, edge delivery, and seamless integration with marketing and content systems
- Develop and maintain modern web applications using React and Next.js
- Build reusable UI components and document them using Storybook
- Ensure all front-end code meets accessibility standards (WCAG) and delivers inclusive user experiences
- Implement SEO best practices, including meta tags, structured data (schemas), and performance optimization
- Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and marketing teams to deliver seamless user journeys across multiple web-based solutions
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Work with a modern front-end hosting platform that supports edge functions, serverless APIs, and global CDN
