Role
Who you are
- Have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with comparable responsibilities working in a similar role at an OTT or MVPD company
- Experience working within cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge and understanding of FAST channel environment and distribution models
- 3+ years working with Aspera or other file-based delivery systems from ingest through operations and troubleshooting
- 2+ years experience working with JIRA or similar program management tools used for intake ticketing, project tracking and process oversight
- 2+ years experience working with CableLabs Metadata v1.1 Spec
- Strong experience partnering with Ad Operations & Sales teams
- Familiarity and experience working with SSAI, CSAI, DAI, DRM, & Blackout policies
- 3+ years experience working within Content Management systems
- Strong teamwork, project management, and organizational skills with an ability to adapt, multitask, and navigate a complex, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to self-identify and effectively seek technical and operational information necessary to close knowledge gaps
- Meticulous attention to detail, including maintaining accurate records and diligently tracking key project metrics
- Ability to work independently, optimize processes, and make decisions under minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication
What the job involves
- Lead the onboarding process with internal teams such as PR, Content Experience, Marketing, Ad Engineering, Operations, Video Engineering (linear/VOD), Platform, Operations, and Customer Care
- Establish and maintain process/workflow and documentation of Linear and VOD onboarding for Fubo and Fubo Networks
- Maintain VOD Metadata spec and operations including testing, modifying, and working with internal/external partners to streamline workflows
- Catalog delivery verification / Inventory reconciliation with internal and external partners
- Attend, participate, and lead weekly meetings representing Delivery Operations (Video) to internal and external partners
- Provider/partner relationship management and compliance audits while communicating gaps or missing expectations
- Work with Content Acquisition team to support launch and onboarding of new content partners, affiliate broadcast partners, and programming partners
- Manage channel creation and changes within dev/qa/prod environment of Platform and Metadata systems
- Drive operational processes and responses within VOD Infrastructure pipeline
- Implement, test, and coordinate Fubo’s blackout policies, DAI, and DRM requirements with internal/external partners
- Develop and measure Content Operation KPIs and OKRs
- Monthly Reporting for Onboarding
- Weekly status of active onboarding work
- Document operational tasks and recommend optimization opportunities and improvements
- Routinely create/update/close JIRA tickets for Delivery intakes along with intake requests with other internal team(s) within Fubo
- Manage the launch of any content related changes including package and price changes, promos, bundles, and add-ons
- Maintain and manage content scheduling for exclusive events and exclusive rights within internal metadata tools
- Position the Delivery team at the forefront of onboarding and engagement opportunities with internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product, Knowledge Graph, and Platform teams on new features and functionalities to provide best customer experience
- Track all new content additions on platform and communicate with finance and operations teams to manage operational costs effectively
- Continually seek opportunities to improve onboarding activities and drive peer-led retrospectives
Our take
Fubo is a live sports streaming service that operates in the United States, Canada, France and Spain. It differentiates itself from other sports braodcasters as sitting at the intersection between traditional cable and streaming, positioning itself as a must-have media provider for sports fans, with an internally-built tech stack allowing for instant replays and live interaction with sporting events.
While its core offering has always been in sports, Fubo built up a strong entertainment service, carrying content from numerous other networks and studios. Following its 2020 IPO its stocks rose sharply as a serious contender against older streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu. By the end of 2022 it had an audience of 1.5 million North American subscribers and over $1 billion in annual global revenue.
Despite its strong growth, the company has entered a difficult period. Beginning to lose the market share it had taken from its competitors, it is also reducing its entertainment services and withdrawing from the sports betting market, with knock-on effects for its share prices. While still a popular service (research from TVision shows ads on Fubo Captured 35% More Attention Than Ads on CTV in General), it remains to be seen if sports fans (and investors) will stay with Fubo in the longer term, especially if it can't thread the needle of profitability in an environment of rising costs and intense competition.
