Spatial's mission is to empower people to be more connected, creative, and productive.
Having initially operated as an AR/VR collaboration platform, Spatial’s pivot to creating Metaverse exhibition spaces, primarily for hosting NFT (non-fungible tokens) auctions, shows how the company has kept its finger on the pulse.
The NFT world generated $25 Billion in 2021, but for many, the jury is still out on its long-term sustainability. It’s a brave move considering that Spatial was already working with the likes of Microsoft and Pfizer prior to changing its model.
The move into the Metaverse doesn’t seem a snap decision though. Rather, Spatial has followed its own user evolution, which shifted from corporates using VR headsets to meet while working remotely, to mainly NFT creators keen to abandon the headset and simply showcase their work. Spatial’s response was to offer one-click spaces for ‘rent’ and integrate crypto-payment capabilities.
