Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations or Business Operations ideally in a healthcare, digital health, or tech-enabled services business
- Must be able to showcase career planning examples of how you built or optimized a Sales Ops methodology and implemented it for your company
- Expert knowledge of: SFDC, Marketo, Salesloft, NotebookLM and experience leveraging them for reporting and process improvement
- Experience with: Salesforce, Salesloft, Scratchpad, Chorus, and Slack-integrated systems
- Expertise in Excel and Google Sheets, including the ability to create insightful reporting dashboards and process flows for sales optimization
- Strong analytical skills with a natural intuition for numbers and data
- Comfortable analyzing data using Metabase or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools
- Effectively builds strong cross-functional relationships with multiple stakeholders across GTM, Product, Finance, and Clinical teams
- Strong critical thinking and business judgment skills
- High degree of accuracy and excellent time management skills—ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders while meeting deadlines
What the job involves
- Color is seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Sales Operations Manager to play a critical role in optimizing our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy and sales efficiency
- This role will be the operational backbone of our sales team, driving revenue growth by ensuring data accuracy, streamlining processes, and providing actionable performance insights
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive data management strategy to capture, organize, and ensure high-quality data ensuring the sales pipeline reflects a realistic view of the business (sales pipeline velocity, win rate, average deal size, forecast accuracy, sales cycle length, etc.) and communicate complex findings and data-driven insights to leadership, influencing decision-making
- Help implement a "single source of truth" by ensuring marketing data from Marketo and sales activity data from SalesLoft and other platforms integrate and aggregate correctly into Salesforce (SFDC)
- Support the development and refinement of dashboards and reports to accurately track GTM performance, including enrollment trends, Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), sales performance, and cohort conversion
- Create and nurture feedback loops from cross-functional partners (Marketing, Product) to allow for timely feedback on marketing and other efforts
- Responsible for GTM tooling (e.g., CRMs, AI tooling, knowledge bases, custom LLMs, etc.) and manage vendor relationships to ensure adoption
- Build, document, and implement effective practices for the management and measurement of MQLs (Marketing Qualified Leads), including efficient handoffs to Sales, ensuring relevant data is available for timely reporting, and follow-up approaches are strategically aligned to the MQL type
Our take
The genetic testing market is hugely promising, with an annual growth rate of over 10%, it’s expected to grow to a $21 billion industry by 2027. Color’s main offering is genetic testing, an increasingly popular preventative healthcare strategy which informs patients about inherited health risks, and puts them in contact with counselors to work on a response plan.
There are plenty of prominent actors in the marketplace, with 23andMe the most well known. However, Color stands out from its competitors by not working in the direct-to-consumer market, but by partnering up with employers, unions and governments to provide population-wide insights. The company’s client list is impressive, including the National Institutes of Health and the State of California, as well as Salesforce, Levis and Visa.
Thanks to a near $170 million series D funding round at the beginning of 2021, the company’s value hit “unicorn” status as it surpassed $1.5 billion. The company’s future growth will be interesting to watch, with the company announcing a new behavioural healthcare solution in October 2022 alongside the acquisition of mental health platform Mood Lifters. In 2024, Color began working with OpenAI on early detection tools for cancer. These developments are in line with Color's aim to build a wider infrastructure for a tech-based public health approach and indicate a push for a future IPO.
