Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in an Engineering Manager or technical leadership position leading projects and people
- Strong technical knowledge (staff engineer-level knowledge of software engineering is expected)
- Experience working with technologies like Angular, Java, Postgres, and microservices
- Strong communication skills (English), allowing you to collaborate smoothly with people across multiple roles & countries
- Ability to work earlier in the day to coordinate with Europe timezones
- Knowledge of day-to-day team organization methodologies like agile
- Ability to lead and make decisions to define the road ahead
- Ability to resolve technical conflicts when necessary, fostering a positive environment for escalations
- Ready to roll up your sleeves to help your team
What the job involves
- As an Engineering Manager, you’re responsible for delivering robust full stack applications and libraries
- You will be at the frontier of user-facing development, pushing the boundaries of product, UX, and engineering to enhance the Process Intelligence Graph with the next generation of process mining
- Customers come to Celonis with messy, complex data and need a clear way to categorize it, simplify it, and turn it into actionable insights
- We are building the next generation of process insights with object-centric process mining to help them save time and money
- You’ll build systems that scale across large datasets and demanding enterprise use cases
- Our stack includes Angular, TypeScript, Java Spring Boot, Postgres, StarRocks and more - focused on extensibility, performance, reliability, and craft
- The work you ship will directly influence how organizations around the world operate, including initiatives like measuring and reducing carbon footprint to support sustainability goals
- Lead the Knowledge full stack team in Redwood City to successfully deliver their mission
- Use technical judgment and intuition about customer behavior to determine the best paths forward on the features we have and trade off properties like time to implement, maintainability, scalability, performance, etc
- Work closely with other engineering teams, x-functional stakeholders, and leads to ensure the development and delivery of impactful product features that drive customer value and shape the overall product strategy
- Manage the performance and support the career development of engineers up to the Staff level
- Build and maintain an engineering culture of trust, ownership, and collaboration within the larger organization, including providing upward and outward visibility of the team and their work
- You’ll help build the next generation of process mining!
- Allows the user to add semantic meaning to their business graph which they can then query in milliseconds
- A best-in-class query authoring experience that guides users through answering their deepest process mining focussed questions
- Helps users store and reuse their business definitions while building applications on the platform
- High visibility to sales & executive leadership
Our take
Celonis started out in an obscure niche, which the company called process mining. Its first product was created to scan data logs for its clients and map out their processes in its entirety - inefficiencies and all. Celonis' product was, in essence, to be considered a replacement for costly consultants and quants.
The company has since branched out into an even more niche area that plays on the strength of its products and proprietary technology, such as execution management solutions. Celonis' product found significant uptake across industries like supply chain, manufacturing, and business intelligence, which quickly amassed it a wealth of enterprise customers and hundreds of millions of dollars in recurring revenue.
Celonis is king in its industry as it was founded just as data-heavy enterprise operations sky-rocketed. Now, the company is backed by hefty funding and impressive advisors across several industries, still seeing increased investment despite the venture capital market is experiencing a slowdown. Celonis has shown impressive foresight and innovation as a company and will continue to eat the fruits of those labour for many years to come.
