Mechanical Engineer Intern, Dusty

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience with CAD tools (We use SolidWorks)
• Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and manufacturing processes
• Ability to create engineering drawings and basic assemblies
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, build-first mindset

Desirable

• You'll work closely with our hardware team to design, build, and test mechanical systems that power our robots. This is a hands-on role where your designs won’t just live in CAD—they’ll be built, tested, broken, improved, and shipped
• Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD
• Build and iterate on prototypes, fixtures, and test rigs for robot subsystems
• Conduct experiments to evaluate performance, durability, and manufacturability
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from hardware testing
• Create engineering drawings and support release of designs for manufacturing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, product) to translate requirements into practical designs
