Role
Who you are
- This is a hands-on sales role with leadership responsibility — suited to someone who thrives on targets, has the drive to open doors, and the skill to close deals
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets, ideally in SaaS, media, sport, or education technology
- Demonstrated ability to own the entire sales process from cold calling to closing
- Experience building and managing a pipeline of deals and reporting accurately on progress
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Highly self-motivated, energetic, and driven by results
- Willingness to travel extensively in the UK and internationally (circa 4 trips per year to Norway)
- UK-based, with the option to work remotely or from our Bristol office
What the job involves
- The Sales Director – Joymo UK will lead the charge in driving adoption of Joymo’s platform across universities, schools, colleges, and grassroots sports organisations. Reporting to the COO of Joymo, this is a pure sales leadership role with full accountability for delivering deals
- The Sales Director is expected to own the full sales cycle end-to-end: from cold calling and appointment setting, through to in-person meetings, national travel, negotiations, and closing. You will be responsible for building, managing, and converting a high-quality pipeline that drives consistent revenue growth
- You'll build, own, and manage the UK sales pipeline with a relentless focus on securing new deals
- Take full ownership of the sales cycle: lead generation, cold calling, outreach, appointment booking, pitching, negotiating, and closing
- Deliver consistent results by signing new customers and meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Travel nationally to meet customers face-to-face and represent Joymo at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities
- Provide accurate and timely documentation, sales forecasts and pipeline management via HubSpot CRM
- Develop long-term, trust-based relationships with decision-makers across education and sports organisations
- Work closely with Customer Success and Revenue Operations to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term value creation for clients
- Represent Joymo as a leader in the UK market, setting the tone for sales ambition and excellence

Our take
Sports teams of all sizes are increasingly realising the importance of online fan engagement to grow their fan base and clubs. However, while major sporting teams have the leverage to negotiate big money deals for their content, grassroots teams have no such option.
Joymo is democratising access to content creation for grassroots teams with an OTT streaming platform that allows them to directly monetise their IP on a pay-per-view or season ticket/annual basis.
The startup is beginning to attract significant audiences onto its platform. With this momentum, it is looking to pursue larger and larger partnerships with sports rights holders.
While Joymo’s product may be delivering for grassroots sports and their audiences, the startup is going to come up against some significant entrenched interests in the sports media industry as it grows.
